Scored 30 goals at the 16U Junior Olympics with Rocky Mountain Neptunes.
+53.0 6-8 Performanc indicator for the 2023-24 NCL season
I am a strong team player with high water polo IQ.
I play right driver and some hole set.
My name is Riley Springate and I play competitive water polo with Surrey Water Polo, based in Vancouver, British Columbia. I have been a member of this club for 6 years and competed in the Water Polo Canada National Championship League (NCL) with Surrey Water Polo for the past 3 seasons. I demonstrate dedication, leadership, and hard work every day at practice which resulted in me being voted Teammate of the Year for Surrey Water Polo for the 2023-24 season.
Using my weight and size to my advantage (6 foot 3 and 175 LBS), I am a defensive force to be reckoned with. My skills, coupled with sheer hard work, have resulted in me being named Most Valuable Defensive Player for my club the past two seasons. Offensively, I play as a right driver or hole set. As a lefty, combined with my size and physicality, I am a strong player in these positions, scoring 42 goals in 24 games last season in the NCL, and 30 goals in 10 games at the Junior Olympics this summer with the Rocky Mountain Neptunes 16U team.
I am very dedicated to my academic success. For grades 8 through 10, I have gone to the Earl Marriott Secondary French Immersion Program, where my focus and participation in class, combined with diligent and consistent studying resulted in me earning straight A's and completing Pre-Calculus 11 with a grade of 99%. My Unweighed GPA is 3.96, and my Weighted GPA is 4.02, having taken Honors Math in grade 10. I currently would like to study sciences at university.
